Xena has been adopted!!!! <3
HUGE THANK YOU to all who donated for Xena’s surgery and to VCA Sacramento Referral Center (SVRC) – The surgery was a COMPLETE success (FHO) and Miss Xena is ready for her next chapter in life – a FUREVER FAMILY!
An URGENT plea from Stockton Animal Shelter brought this lil beauty to Shepherds Without Borders rescue. We don’t know how Xena was injured, but it is possible she was hit by a car. Xena had several injuries, but we think her young age certainly may have helped her heal fast! After waiting for several weeks for her pelvic fractures to heal, she was approved for hip surgery, which was a complete SUCCESS!
Xena is a female GSD who is approximately 12-16 months. She is up to date on her vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative (on prevention) and is scheduled for a spay in the next week. Xena is a micro-pop of a shepherd at about 50 pounds – perfect for those smaller households and she literally fits in any car She is crate trained and walks on a leash, though she will need some basic obedience training to be her best sheppy self. Xena prefers older calmer children and has done well with teenagers who understand she is still recovering
Xena should require no further medical attention for her surgery/injuries – ALL are Good to Go! This is a sweet girl who loves people and dogs (she has been introduced to several med-large dogs). She is an AMAZING GIRL who is looking for her forever family and/or a foster family here in the PNW – come on an help a girl out – share this post and fill out an application!
