THIS HANDSOME boy Kater came to Shepherds Without Borders rescue because he was completely shutdown in the shelter and was facing euthanasia. As people came to view a potential new dog, Kater would face the corner and would not respond. He was such a sad case with no hope of adoption, Shepherds Without Borders rescue stepped in to save his life.
After a time decompressing, we learned quickly that Kater LOVES DOGS! In fact, he gets braver and is more comfortable with a furry dog buddy (he has done well with other medium to large males and females, but with dogs who are medium to lower activity). He loves to play or just hang out with a furry buddy – this guy loves his pack!! Kater will need time to warm up to new people, and although he is a bit scared of people at first, he has not shown any aggression. While we don’t know Kater’s past, we believe that he may have spent most of his time in a backyard with a doggy friend(s) with possible limited exposure to humans – did we mention that this boy loves treats?
Kater is a 1-2 year-old male GSD-blend who up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative (on prevention) and is neutered. He is crate-trained and housebroken – HE LOVES TREATS! He is goofy, carefree and playful. Kater is looking for a home that has a human family who offer him a chance to slowly come out of his shell in a quieter environment with a furry dog buddy, of course! He is low to medium activity, though he will play for long spurts with other dogs Kater has been exposed to some basic obedience commands, but would need further training to be his best self.
Kater is ready for a home and a family who can work with him to BLOSSOM into the boy he wants to be and a buddy to show him the way!
