** ADOPTED ** Miss Ruby

RUBY IS ADOPTED!!! CONGRATULATIONS to Ruby and her new family <3

At Shepherds Without Borders, our aim is to make that perfect match for every dog, but, unfortunately, sometimes it does not turn out that way. Ruby is on the lookout again for her perfect family <3

She is a STUNNING and amazingly sweet girl who has really come out of her shell. She knows sit, down and a few other basic commands. She walks nicely on a leash and rides great in the car. Ruby is housebroken and takes treats very gently. She has shown the ability to get along with other dogs, both small and large. We do not know if Ruby has been exposed to a cat previously. Ruby is on the smaller size, about 55 pounds (probably a shepherd/husky mix) and has a moderate activity level. She is playful and silly at times and loves to go on long walks and would be a great candidate for a running partner (after some coaching – of course). Ruby is heartworm negative (on preventative), spayed, microchipped and her vaccines are up to date. Could you use a little sweetness in your life? This girl will certainly melt your heart <3

Ruby is a female GSD-blend at just 55 pounds and is approximately 5-years-old. Ruby is super sweet and loving, careful and cautious when meeting new people, but warms up and bonds quickly. She is housebroken, up to date on shots, microchipped, heartworm negative and recently spayed. Ruby is quieter in nature, though she will bark for a few things. She walks on a leash and is learning to sit. Ruby’s perfect home would consist of a calmer home and environment with children over the age of 10. We do not know if Ruby has met a cat in her past. She has exhibited the ability to coexist with other dogs and is very playful at times. We do not know about smaller dogs or cats. Ruby would benefit from continued training/socialization. She has a low-moderate activity level and would love to go on a few leisure walks a day. Would you love to welcome Ruby to your family? Meet Miss Ruby an approximately 5-year-old GSD blend. She is super sweet and loving, careful and cautious when meeting new people; we suspect that she will get less so as she continues to understand that people are her friends again. She is housebroken, up to date on shots, microchipped, heartworm negative and under a treatment for her skin. Ruby will be spayed as soon as the veterinarian says the health of her skin is stable. Ruby is quiet for the most part and likes to go for walks. She has been introduced to a leash, but does not seem to know sit or any basic commands. Ruby’s perfect home would consist of quiet home with a calmer environment. We do not know if Ruby has met a cat in her past. She seems willing to meet other dogs, but needs slow introductions.

Ruby’s rescue story begins on 05/28/2019, when she was picked up by animal control in the Eagle Creek (Oregon) area. Her condition whispers of neglect for some time; her beautiful reddish coat was half missing, skin full of yeast and infection from the continuous biting of fleas, her nails were unbelievably long and she weighed just 49 pounds. She had also whelped puppies in the recent past. She spent almost a month in the shelter, healing her broken body and spirit. On 06/22/2019, SWB entered into her rescue journey.
