ADOPTED <3
Mimi arrived to the PNW thanks to one very special transporter, Dawn, who brought her all the way from Sunny California to Portland Oregon to her foster home. Mimi spent a few weeks in her foster angel’s home before finding her happily ever after – it was love at first sight <3
WELCOME to your new home and life Mimi <3

**UPDATE** 01/07/2018 Mimi is coming to the PNW and is looking for her fur-ever home!
Mimi was rescued from a shelter the afternoon before she was scheduled for euthanasia in September 2017. She had been picked up as a stray and taken to the shelter where she developed pneumonia and was treated. Thought to be a sweet senior, we got a huge surprise when Mimi was taken to our vet and estimated to be between only 5-6 years old. Mimi is a stunning female GSD and a sweet and loving girl. She has a low-moderate activity/drive. She exhibits the ability to get along with other dogs (of all sizes) and other farm animals. She could not be more gentle and sweet.
After Mimi was rescued from the shelter, she was transported to our vet partner where she underwent a complete physical exam. Mimi was found to be blind in the left eye from an old injury and in excruciating pain from hip dysplasia.
She has spent 2.5 long months in the animal hospital. She has undergone FHO on her left hip and has been spayed. She is walking better EVERY DAY and will just need love and time to continue to build her muscle back.
She is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. This sweet loving girl is READY FOR A HOME of her own
Mimi’s hospitalization costs are astounding. Thank you to those special individuals that have donated previously to her medical costs and donated blankets, goodies and nonslip booties.
***UPDATE *** 10/20/2017 Mimi had her second postoperative visit with her surgeon. While Mimi’s incision looks GREAT, her inability to move for some time caused most all of her muscles to atrophy, so she is struggling to build the muscle in her surgical hip. She will begin treadmill walking sessions and more muscle therapy next week. Mimi’s spirit is good and she continues to be a happy sweet loving girl
Our hope is that Mimi will build the necessary muscle in this hip to allow her to undergo the second hip surgery she desperately needs to allow her to escape the pain she has likely had most of her life from bilateral hip dysplasia. Unfortunately, this small setback to delay her arrival a bit. We are hoping to welcome Mimi to a happy family by Christmas
We thank Mimi’s supporters and friends for continuing to follow her We also want to send a special thank you to Debra Eastham and the staff at Venetian Animal Hospital in California for the loving care they show our dogs of rescue.
Mimi is seen here on a break with a few items of her special care package sent by Jessica She sends her many thanks for a CUTE cushy blankie and chewy
We ask that you consider sharing Mimi’s story/fundraiser and thank you – https://www.youcaring.com/mimi-964805
****UPDATE **** Mimi has undergone her first hip surgery and is almost 2 weeks postoperative. She has a surgical followup appointment on Monday. Mimi is enjoying her physical therapy and has now begun to shift weight off her nonsurgical hip as it too has been painful all of her life. Her progress is steady and she remains a complete sweetheart <3 Mimi has received many donations and we thank you. She even received a care package with a new blanket and some special treats! Mimi has a road ahead of her still, but we are expecting a full recovery and a full life ahead for her <3 We thank her many friends and supporters <3
Mimi is expected to be transferred to the Pacific Northwest around Thanksgiving time – what a wonderful time of year for her to get her furever family!! Adoption Application
Donations are welcome to MiMi! You can donate to MiMi’s medical expenses here https://www.youcaring.com/mimi-964805 OR they may be made directly to the vet’s office if preferred – Venetian Animal Hospital in California phone # (209) 477-3926. WELCOME MIMI!!!!!
Mimi is a stunning female GSD, approximately 5 years old who was rescued from a California high intake/kill shelter less than 24 hours before she was scheduled to be euthanized. Mimi is a sweet and loving girl and has a low-moderate activity/drive. She exhibits the ability to get along with other dogs and other farm animals. She could not be more gentle and sweet.
Before Mimi can begin her new life, be transported to the PNW and find her new family, she needs surgical intervention to end the constant debilitating pain she has suffered for likely most of her life. Mimi was likely born with a congenital defect in her hips and needs surgery. She has an extremely good blood panel, good ankles and knees and has many years to share with a new family. After surgery, she is expected to make a full recovery and be fully functional for the rest of her life!
Can you help Mimi? No donation is too small – her surgical costs are estimated to be in the 1000s of dollars and donations are completely tax deductible. We thank you! Donate
